A vision of excellence for a first-year program materialized by the season’s end this year. Decorum Elite, a first-year football team and youth program in Denver, began its journey in January 2024 to redefine what it means to be a student-athlete.

At Decorum, success isn’t solely defined by victories on the field but by developing the “whole student-athlete”—focusing on discipline, resilience, and integrity in sports and life. Program Head Coach Maurice Greer and program leaders emphasize that when young athletes develop these essential qualities, they become stronger players and excel in all areas of life. This approach has set Decorum apart and led to a strong season where victory is achieved on and off the field.

It was a season marked by unforeseen adversities. From the outset, Decorum Elite faced challenges that tested their resilience. Since the team’s announcement, adversity has been a constant theme, pushing each player and staff member to overcome obstacles.

Their season has been defined by injuries that would have deterred even the most seasoned teams.

The team suffered nine injuries, including a broken wrist, a fractured knee, a nerve-damaged knee, bruised ribs, an ACL tear, and multiple soft tissue injuries.

One player faced a tragic personal loss with the death of their mother due to breast cancer.

These challenges brought the team closer, demonstrating their dedication to each other and supporting them throughout every practice and game.

In a league filled with experienced teams, Decorum Elite made a remarkable debut by finishing as the top seed with a record of 9-2. This achievement highlights their determination and the strength of their unified team vision.

Decorum Elite (age 11 and under) will face the 9-1-1 Pirates in the Championship Game at CSU Canvas Stadium on Sunday, November 3, at 4:00 pm. Both teams are ready for a fierce battle to determine the best in Colorado.

“For Decorum, this matchup represents more than a title; it’s the culmination of a season filled with personal growth, teamwork, and overcoming the odds. The team has prepared for this fight through every adversity and is determined to leave everything on the field,” the team said in a statement. Decorum Elite’s journey demonstrates that, with a vision grounded in developing the whole person, true success is inevitable. This weekend, Denver’s community will witness a great game and the power of a team that has turned every setback into a stepping stone.
