Construction Closures Begin on Denver Airport’s A-Bridge
Summary
Travelers planning to fly during the Thanksgiving holiday should note that Denver International Airport (DEN) will undergo construction that will temporarily limit the use of the A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall for travel between the Terminal and Concourse A during overnight hours.
Ansbacher Hall connects the Terminal’s north end to the Bridge Security area, where art exhibitions are displayed.
After the construction project is completed, A-Bridge Security will be permanently closed. Ansbacher Hall will then be converted into a post-security area for ticketed passengers who have passed TSA screening and for individuals with the appropriate credentials. This closure will occur after the new East Security Checkpoint is finished in the third quarter of 2025.
Important Traveler Information:
Phase I: Starting November 11, 2024, the A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall are closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Use the concourse trains to travel between the Terminal and Concourse A during this time.
Phase II: From December 9, the TSA will stop regular operations at Bridge Security, though equipment will remain for emergencies. A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall will remain open for arriving passengers and airport employees.
Phase III: In the third quarter of 2025, the new East Security Checkpoint will open, transforming Ansbacher Hall and A-Bridge into a post-security corridor. Travelers who have passed TSA screening at either the East or West Checkpoints can access Concourse A directly.
This new corridor will also allow arriving passengers to exit the secure area near the West and East Checkpoints, making it convenient for them to proceed to baggage claim or ground transportation.
A parallel, pre-security corridor in Ansbacher Hall will provide access to DEN’s Airport Office Building, ensuring continued access for airport employees.
Concourse Train Service:
Up-to-date information on checkpoint availability will be available at flydenver.com.
The concourse trains will continue to operate, providing access between the Terminal and all three concourses, ensuring continued ease of travel.
“This construction project is part of our long-term strategy to enhance airport operations,” said DEN CEO Phil Washington. “Once the East Security Checkpoint is complete, DEN will have two new, state-of-the-art checkpoints that will allow us to process travelers more efficiently, supporting our goal to comfortably serve up to 100 million passengers annually in the years to come.”
