On November 30, 2024, GreenSpaces, a dynamic coworking space, marketplace, and community event venue, hosted the highly anticipated Black Business Holiday Marketplace. Organized by the Mu Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the event celebrated Black excellence by showcasing a vibrant array of local, Black-owned businesses.

The marketplace featured a diverse lineup of vendors offering an exceptional selection of products, from eye-catching jewelry and cutting-edge robotics to fine wine, distinctive fashions, and captivating books and games for more than 300 shoppers who came out to support small, Black-owned businesses on Small Business Saturday.

To make holiday shopping easier, sixteen local businesses teamed up to create the marketplace:

  • BH Threads
  • Black and Blossomed
  • Colorado Bath and Body
  • Designed by Robyn Jewelry
  • Earth Fragments Jewelry
  • Fire Sign Design Art
  • Jekl Institute
  • Kamal's Kuisine
  • Kinley's K-9 Kraveables
  • Lela's Honey
  • Little Sistas Treats
  • Mela Vino
  • Michelle Adams – Hello, Legacy / Law Offices of Michelle Adams
  • Miga's Coffee
  • The Fashion Tilt
  • Trivia for Us

Black and Blossomed is a beloved Black-owned floral and gift shop at GreenSpaces (2590 Walnut St.). It sells unique flowers, floral arrangements, and gifts.

The goal of the Mu Omega Omega Chapter, in partnership with Black and Blossomed and Green Spaces, was to elevate Black entrepreneurs while celebrating community and culture during the holiday season.

Bussin' Photography beautifully captured the event's energy and success. These striking images, shared with Denver Weekly News, highlight the spirit of unity,  strength, and creativity.

The Mu Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.'s Black Business Holiday Marketplace, in partnership with GreenSpaces and Black and Blossomed, was more than just a shopping event—it was a testament to the power and potential of Black entrepreneurship.
