Keynote speaker Church of God In Christ (COGIC) Superintendent and Pastor of Graham Memorial Community COGIC P.L. Demmer delivered a sermon covering various topics.
Demmer expressed his disappointment over the presidential re-election of a felon over a woman of color, highlighting the nation’s historical reluctance to elect a woman in the November 2024 general election, and nationwide, he checked the key state African-American communities for their low voter turnout record.
Regarding economic justice and reparations, Demmer criticized unjust judges and legislators who do not fear God or regard man, highlighting systemic societal issues.
He closed on religious and community leadership, emphasizing the importance of religious leaders using their voices to advocate for justice and equality.

In her acceptance speech, Kennedy called for collaboration and cooperation among community members and religious leaders to address issues of injustice and inequality.
